RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent is expected to provide the knowledge and expertise for Organization to further develop Living Benefits reinsurance markets in Canada and to provide the expertise and creativity for Organization to help clients create new reinsured Living Benefits products and features.
- Understand the Canadian (particularly Individual) Living Benefits market and products.
- Maintain a dialogue with leading insurers, brokers and other thought leaders in the Individual Living Benefits market to learn about the opportunities and under-served or un-served needs.
- Lead the analysis and development of new products and solutions for Living Benefits.
- Identify and develop ideas to differentiate Organization from other reinsures in the Living Benefits market.
- Establish reinsurance pricing bases for new Individual Living Benefits products and features and work with the Director Group Pricing for new Group Living Benefits.
- Advise and support client companies on Individual Living Benefits products, pricing bases and risk management.
- Perform pricing and risk analysis for both new Individual Living Benefits treaties and changes to existing ones with the support of actuarial analysts.
- Leverage Living Benefits expertise existing within Organization Canada, Organization US and Organization International.
- Speak on, write articles about and get involved in Industry work on Living benefits and be recognized as an expert.
- Provide excellent customer service and reinforce Organization’s partnership approach with its clients, particularly in the area of Living Benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actuarial designation at or approaching fellowship level.
- A minimum of 5 years of Living Benefits pricing and product design experience.
- Experience with one, or preferably more, of the follow.
- LTC business.
- Individual DI & Office expense overhead insurance.
- Loss of employment.
- CI business.
- Strong Customer focus.
- Self-starter and self-motivated team player.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to positively influence change.
- Advanced technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Insurance company/direct market experience preferred.
- Knowledge of AXIS preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
